Lauren was in my dream last night, for the first time since England. Clear as day. At first I second guessed myself. I must have thought too loudly that it couldn’t be possible, for she assured me it was.
We were on the Palladium deck, in the middle of a practice. She had a new assistant coach. I didn’t catch his name. He said what I was doing was remarkable – very brave.
The freshmen were all seniors now. I didn’t recognize hardly anyone apart from Kristen Fuji. It was a coed practice.
We hugged. I asked her how she was doing. She said great. Her hair was long again, like when I met her my freshman year. I told her she looked beautiful.
